On Wednesday, India will face the United Arab Emirates in their second Group B match at the Asia Mixed Team Championships. India kicked off their campaign with a dominant performance against Kazakhstan, securing a 5-0 victory. Star players P V Sindhu and H S Prannoy led the charge with comfortable wins.
India got off to a strong start with the mixed doubles pair of Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto defeating Makhsut Tadzhibullaev and Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva with a score of 21-5, 21-11, giving India a 1-0 lead. Prannoy then took on Dmitriy Panarin in the men’s singles match, clinching victory with a score of 21-9, 21-11 in just 24 minutes.
Sindhu continued India’s winning streak, swiftly defeating Kamila Smagulova with a score of 21-4, 21-12 in only 20 minutes. This secured a comfortable 3-0 lead for India in the tie. The second mixed doubles pair of Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala, as well as the women’s doubles duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, also emerged victorious in their respective matches, sealing a comprehensive win for India.
In their upcoming match, India will face the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday. Malaysia is the other team in Group B. The top two teams from each of the four groups will qualify for the quarter-finals.
